Your website is not doing its job

For established businesses whose site is dated, slow, or simply not converting.

A website stops working long before it looks broken. It gets slower, the offer drifts from what you actually sell now, and enquiries quietly fall off without anything obviously failing.

The useful question is not "does it look old". It is "does a stranger understand what we sell, and can they act on it". Plenty of dated sites convert well. Plenty of beautiful ones do not.

This sounds like you if…

  • The site was built years ago and no longer reflects the business
  • It gets visitors but few enquiries
  • You cannot update it yourself without breaking something
  • It is slow, or awkward to use on a phone

What this actually involves

Working out whether to fix or replace

A rebuild is not always the cheaper option and not always the dearer one. If the structure is sound, fixing speed, copy and conversion is often a fraction of the cost.

Saying what you do, clearly

Most business sites fail here rather than on design. A visitor should know what you sell, who it is for and what to do next, within a few seconds.

Speed and phones

Most of your visitors are on a phone on mobile data. A site that takes too long to appear has already lost some of them before anything renders.

Being able to change it yourself

If every text change needs a developer, the site will go stale. It should be editable by whoever actually knows the business.

Questions people ask

How do I know if my website needs rebuilding?

Look at whether it can still do the job rather than at how it looks. If the structure is sound and the content is wrong, fixing copy, speed and conversion is far cheaper than a rebuild. If you cannot edit it, it is slow on a phone, or it describes a business you no longer run, replacing it is usually the better value.

How long does a website take to build?

A straightforward business site is typically a few weeks from a signed scope, assuming content and images are ready. What extends it is almost never the build — it is waiting on copy, photography, product data and approvals. Having those ready before the project starts is the single biggest thing a client controls.

Will a new website get me more enquiries?

Only if the reason for the low enquiries was the website. If nobody can find you, a better site converts the same small number of visitors slightly better. Work out whether your problem is visibility or conversion before spending on either — they have completely different fixes.

Do I own the website when it is finished?

You should. The code, design files, hosting, domain, analytics and any accounts should all be in your name from day one. If an agency will not put that in writing, that is a reason to look elsewhere — it is the arrangement that leaves you unable to leave.

Get this sorted properly

Tell us where you are up to and you will get a straight answer from someone who has done this work before — what it takes, what it costs, and the order to do it in.

What working with us actually looks like

A fixed price, written down

A free call, then a proposal with the scope and the number on it. No hourly drip, and no invoice that surprises you.

A person replies, not a sequence

We read every enquiry ourselves. If we are not the right fit we will say so and point you somewhere better.

One project manager throughout

The same person from the first call to launch, so you never re-explain the business to somebody new.

Built to bring in work

Enquiries, bookings and sales are the measure. A site that looks good and produces nothing has not done its job.
