The questions owners ask us before they buy

What things really cost, which platform suits you, and why a site that looks fine still brings in nothing. No theory, and nothing written by someone who has not built one.

About these guides

Who writes these guides?

We do — the same people who build the sites and run the campaigns, not a content team writing about work they have never done. That is also why several of them tell you not to spend money on something. Advice that is transparently self-serving is worth less than advice that is true.

Which guide should I read first?

If you have not started, read what to build first. If you are choosing a platform, read Shopify versus WooCommerce. If you already have a site and it is quiet, read why your website is not generating leads — that one solves the most expensive problem on this list.

Can you just do this for me instead of me reading it?

Yes, and for most owners that is the better trade. Every hour spent learning web work is an hour not spent on product, suppliers or customers, and the learning does not compound the way those do. Send us a sentence about the business and we will tell you what it needs and what it costs, free.

How often do you publish?

When there is something worth saying rather than to a schedule. If you would like the new ones as they land, the email list at the bottom of this page is the only thing we send — and it is short.

No obligation

Skip ahead and just ask

Reading is the slow way to work out what you need. Tell us where you are up to and we will tell you what it takes, what it costs, and the order to do it in.

What working with us actually looks like

A fixed price, written down

A free call, then a proposal with the scope and the number on it. No hourly drip, and no invoice that surprises you.

A person replies, not a sequence

We read every enquiry ourselves. If we are not the right fit we will say so and point you somewhere better.

One project manager throughout

The same person from the first call to launch, so you never re-explain the business to somebody new.

Built to bring in work

Enquiries, bookings and sales are the measure. A site that looks good and produces nothing has not done its job.
